The Mastren laboratory encompasses research in nuclear medicine, lanthanide and actinide chemistry, and environmental chemistry. Projects involve the production of radioisotopes for the treatment of cancer, synthesis of resins for the separation of lanthanides and actinides, thermodynamics of actinide/lanthanide complexes, targeted radiotherapy employing beta and alpha emitting radioisotopes, and neutron activation analysis of environmental contaminants.
